WHAT DOES THE AREA COUNCIL DO FOR ME?

The goals of the Greater St. Louis Area Council shall be as follows:

  1. To promote and foster a better understanding of the challenges of member chapters - new directors, music files, rehearsal sites, show venues, etc.;

  2. To cooperate in all matters of the inter-chapter functions (i.e., Area Jamborees, Harmony Festivals, and HELP schools);

  3. To clear all chapter show dates and other chapter functions to prevent conflicts;

  4. To maintain a reference service or website to individual chapter activities for local or out-of-town members or guests (www.areacouncil.org);

  5. To assist in the planning of events of a scope appropriate for a large group of chapters (i.e., District or International Conventsions);

  6. To support various local service projects, such as sponsoring fundraisers for the needy, musical education in our schools, and assisting in marketing our style of music to the public (as in Singing Valentines).
